about

Xénos, "foreigner" in Greek, is a band that draws inspiration from stories and experiences of exile and immigration and transcends this into music, world-jazz with a rock sound. The band came about as a wish to play ''songs'', not just instrumental music and the meeting of Srdjan and Jovana was crucial and defining for the band's sound.

After playing around Paris we really wanted to record this music and impulsively, immediately after the first ''lockdown'' we impulsively did.

The leitmotiv of the album is the foreigner in every sense of the word. The tracks were chosen or composed following this guideline. The traditional Greek songs about immigration have been given a new breath of life, thanks to the musical arrangements that bring them towards the Punk / Reggae of the 90s.
